IOWA COURT REPORTERS ASSOCIATION

Amy Lampman, CSR, RPR

I was born and raised in Newell, Iowa, graduating from Newell-Fonda High School in 1993. I then attended
AIB, graduating in the fall of 1995. My first job was as a freelance reporter with Harris Reporting in Mason City. I worked for that agency until my husband and I moved to Sioux City in 1997 where I freelanced for a short time for Kennedy Reporting. We moved back to Mason City in 1998 when I began working for The Honorable Gerald Magee in juvenile court. I worked for him until he retired in 2008. I then worked for the Honorable Gregg Rosenbladt until the layoffs occurred in 2009. I freelanced for North Iowa Reporting before moving again (for my husband’s job) to Webster City where I was hired by the newly appointed District Court Judge James McGlynn in December 2012. I worked for
him until he retired in September 2020 and have been working for the Honorable Bethany Currie since that time.

My husband and I are empty nesters and are enjoying it immensely. We have one daughter, Courtney, who is 23. She graduated from ISU last winter and is fully employed and supporting herself! Our son, Austin, age 21, and is currently attending pharmacy school at Drake University.  I have served on the ICRA Officials Committee for several years, but am looking forward to serving in a different capacity as an official director.
