Laura McFall, CSR

I graduated from high school in Albia, Iowa, in 2001.  I attended AIB College of Business in Des Moines and graduated in 2003.  My first job was as an official court reporter for the Honorable Vernon Daniels in Juvenile Court in Douglas County, Nebraska.  When an officialship opened up in Albia, I was very excited for the opportunity to move home.  I worked in District Court with the Honorable Annette J. Scieszinski from May of 2005 until her retirement in December of 2016.  Today, I continue to work in District Court for the Honorable Shawn R. Showers. 

I live in Albia with my two sons, ages 13 and 6.  I spend my free time riding a lot of bleachers at various sporting activities, which suits me well, as I’m an avid sports fan.  I am known for equally loving the Cyclones AND the Hawkeyes!!  I also love reading and going to concerts.

It’s my hope to start traveling more, with my top destinations being New York City (at Christmas is a bonus), Hawaii, and Ireland. 

I have served on the Officials Committee, Bylaws Committee, and as a Director for ICRA in the past.  I am stepping way outside of my comfort zone to serve on the Executive Board of ICRA.  I am excited for the many opportunities and experiences that come with executive board service, and I’m honored to give back to the profession that has given so much to me.
