Mock Trials -- State Fair
The dates of the State Fair for this year are: Thursday, August 9, through
Saturday, August 18, 2007. The mock trials are held nightly through these dates
commencing at 6:30 p.m. Click here for more information.

| The Distinguished Service Award

The
DSA Committee seeks nominations of individuals for the prestigious Roy
Voelker Memorial Award for Distinguished Service. The committee will
accept nominations through April 15th of each year. Click here for more information and a form to fill out and send to the chair of the DSA Committee in care of our executive director.
Congratulations to Vance Harris of Mason City, the 2007-2008 recipient of the Roy Voelker Distinguished Service Award.

Mary L. Brown Scholarship Recipients
Congratulations to AIB student Sara Anne Graves of Olwein, Iowa, and Iowa
high school student Danielle Rae Dornath of Lake View, Iowa. They are
the winners of the Mary L. Brown scholarships for 2007 awarded by ICRA.

ICRA Board Nominations
It is the duty of the Nominating Committee to provide a slate of nominees to the president at least 60 days prior to the annual business meeting. You can find out more information about the election process, and a
candidate nomination form is also available to send to our chair of the Nominating Committee in care of our executive director.

COURT REPORTING ON YOUTUBE
A couple of reporting-related TV classics have been posted on YouTube and linked out from the NCRA home page. In one from the Carol Burnett Show
from the 1970s, Carol plays an official reporter who gets a little too involved
in John Byner’s testimony. Another, from the second or perhaps third incarnation
of Allen Funt’s Candid Camera,
sets up a series of deposition reporters with a mumbling deponent just back
from oral surgery. Finally, deposition reporters and CLVSs especially will
enjoy On the Depo Trail.
