I
graduated from AIB and became certified in 1982. I freelanced for a
very short time before I became employed by the Fifth Judicial District in
associate court in 1983. In 1985 I was hired by Joel D. Novak,
district court judge, and have worked for him since.
I live in
rural Van Meter. My husband’s name is Ron. I have three children,
TJ, Mark, and Kacie. I also have a four-legged family of three dogs,
Bruno, Rosco, and Rosie, and two cats, Lucy and Lex.
I love to
read and be outdoors, but the past few years I’ve had very little time to
do either. (Those darn transcripts get in the way, don’t they?)
Anyway, when time permits, I like to ride ATVs, walk, and travel.
I have served
on the ICRA board for the past three years as the official director.
I am now stepping into the position of vice president. While I am very
excited about this new role, I am also very nervous. It has been a
wonderful experience to meet people from all across Iowa. Through participating
on the ICRA board, I have also been given the opportunity to travel to Washington,
D.C., to attend NCRA functions and have had the opportunity to meet reporters
from across the United States. We really have a great association,
and I look forward to serving our members. I would really like to encourage
more people to become actively involved in ICRA.
